Bennington Melodeons pitcher Isaac Castro was in top form, leading his team past the Rutland Quarrymen, 8-1. The Melodeons raised their record to 85-45.

Bennington first baseman Rafael Martínez helped the Melodeons go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, Martínez hit a run-scoring single off Rutland pitcher Ernesto Jiménez.

"Things went our way," said Martínez.
