Slumping Quarrymen Lose 6th Straight
Bennington turned a fine outing from starter José Romero into a victory over the Rutland Quarrymen at Melodeon Grounds. The final score was 5-2. With the win, Bennington pushed its record to 86-45.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and no one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. That's when pinch hitter Atenágoras Sánchez, who is tied for 10th in the NNEA with a .834 OPS, hit a 2-run double. The Melodeons went on to win.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Eduardo Rodríguez.
