Locksmiths Fall Short, 5-4, at New Haven
|
The New Haven Regicides picked up a win at Stuart Park, knocking off the Stamford Locksmiths, 5-4. On the mound for New Haven was right-hander Rube Kisinger. He played a key role in the triumph. In 9 innings, Kisinger surrendered 11 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 4 runs. New Haven has run its win streak to 4 straight.
Contributing to the New Haven win was Joe Flynn. In the bottom of the fifth, the 42-year old first baseman had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. That made the score 5-2, the Regicides in front.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Flynn told the New Haven Daily News.
