Arecibo wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Conor Crowe, falling to the Vega Alta Lirios, 4-3. Crowe threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The save was credited to Noah Watkins, his 5th. The Cachorros, at 10-19, have lost 6 straight games.
In the bottom of the 5th, Vega Alta took the lead on a 2-run home run by Bryson Menard. At the time, the Lirios were trailing 3-2, but Menard's hit with two outs against Arecibo pitcher Conor Crowe put them in front, 4-3.
Menard called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
