Martínez Helps Escaleras Beat Chiringas, 5-4
|
Gurabo beat Juncos at Parquecito de Gurabo, eking out a 5-4 win. The triumph was primarily due to right fielder Glaucio Martínez. He went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Gurabo reliever Jon Lambert was credited with the win. His record goes to 1-0. Roberto Brown took the loss for Juncos. With the win, the Escaleras improved to 17-14.
With Gurabo leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Martínez hit a curveball from Roberto Brown for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Escaleras ahead, 4-0.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Martínez.
