Cazadores Get Past Florida, 3-2
|
Starting pitcher Hahn Zimmerman gave the Guaynabo Cazadores a rock-solid effort. The Frankfurt, Germany native helped his team defeat the Florida Estribaciones, 3-2, at Parquecito de Florida. Zimmerman, now 4-3, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 3, walking 4, and allowing 2 runs. Samuel Lewis closed the game out for Guaynabo, earning his 2nd save.
Guaynabo used the timely hitting of Oliverio Martínez to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Cazadores on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Martínez said.
Guaynabo is now 16-16, Florida 17-15.
