The Hormigueros Companeros faced a tough opponent in Lajas pitcher Tristán Rincón, but found a way to pull out the victory at Parquecito de Hormigueros by a final score of 6-5 in 10 innings. Rincón went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Hormigueros pitcher Ernesto Cordova got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mason Watson got the loss. The Companeros now have a mark of 26-26.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the tenth when Telémaco Garza hit a solo home run off 19-year old left-handed pitcher Mason Watson to win the game for Hormigueros. The home crowd went wild.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Garza.
