The Toa Alta Sonetistas outlasted the San Juan Ciudadanos, 6-5, in 14 innings. Toa Alta center fielder Manabu Hirano stood out with his performance. He was 2-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win puts the Sonetistas at 24-29, while the Ciudadanos drop to 19-36.

The game-ending blow was delivered by Kazuyuki Taniguchi in the bottom of the 14th. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Segundo Aguilar to win it for Toa Alta and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.

"The crowd was juiced," said Taniguchi.
