Salinas and Cayey got after it at Parquecito de Salinas.

The Salinas Olimpicos topped the Cayey Brumosos, 8-5, with youngster Héctor Garza playing a key role. Garza went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Olimpicos in the win. Sam Johnstone got the win, improving to 5-8. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Hartigan Aylott nailed down the save.

Valentin Maier had a big 2-run double for the Olimpicos in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Salinas leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a slider from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Dillman and swatted a double to right. It was his 7th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Olimpicos ahead, 3-0.

"It's going to click," said Cayey manager Joaquín García. "It's just a matter of when."

The Olimpicos move to 26-32 with the win, while the Brumosos drop to 26-30.
