Arcadians Fall to Stevedores, 5-0
|
Newport and Cardiff took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
Getting an impressive start from Tim Shea, Newport beat Cardiff by the score of 5-0. The save was credited to Guarionex Cruz, his 5th.
Disibodo López put Newport in front, 3-0, when he took Josh Jones downtown. His 2-run home run came with two out in the bottom of the third. It was his 12th home run of the season.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Newport manager Isaac Pérez. "It's usually not just one thing."
The Stevedores are now 42-81.
