The Guatire Heroes picked up a win at Estadio de Guatire, dropping the Caracas Sultanes, 6-3. Ferdinando Osuna, who won the Excelentísimo (LBPV) in 1908, was the difference-maker. Osuna got the win, improving to 5-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Marco Maldonado earned the save for Guatire, his 2nd of the year.
Daniel Gómez was vital to the Guatire win. He went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third with two out, Gómez hit a 2-run single. It made the score 4-0, in favor of the Heroes.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Gómez.
Guatire is now 15-14, Caracas 9-21.
