Barinas Nets 3-2 Win Versus Caballeros
|
Fans saw a dandy of a game between the Barinas Viajeros and Merida Caballeros.
The Barinas Viajeros picked up a win at Campo de Barinas, knocking off the Merida Caballeros, 3-2. Starting pitcher Matthew Bunge was a big reason why. Bunge, now 4-2, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 0, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Barinas took a 3-2 lead on Abdías González's 9th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which González hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Merida pitcher José Flores visibly frustrated.
Barinas manager Samuel Morales commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
Barinas now sits at 16-17, while Merida falls to 12-21.
