Jerezanos Win with Late Heroics
|
The Isabela Jerezanos downed the San Sebastian Husares, 3-1, at Parquecito de Isabela. Stellar pitching by Malik Drakes had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who leads the LMB in strikeouts with 133, handcuffed his opponent all game. Drakes, the winner, moves to 9-4. He threw 10 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Isabela is now 34-24, while San Sebastian is 22-38.
Isabela got a critical at-bat from Amílcar Campos. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run home run in the bottom of the tenth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was huge.
"This place was jumping at the end," Drakes said.
