Ponce Beats Sabana Grande, 3-1

Though the conditions were not ideal, the Ponce Hidalgos and Sabana Grande Tramantes came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
Jorge Lozano pitched a gem to lead Ponce to victory over the Sabana Grande Tramantes, 3-1. Lozano, now 10-5, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 2, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. Inês Resina recorded the save, his 2nd.
Ponce used a clutch at-bat from José Campa to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Hidalgos ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"It was a solid team effort," said Campa after the game.
Ponce is first in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Lola Rodríguez de Tió with a record of 39-20.
