Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Corozal Maduritos and Jayuya Picachos.
In a tight contest between the Corozal Maduritos and the Jayuya Picachos, Alastair Ormiston was the determining factor. The Corozal left-hander sparkled in his team's 2-0 win. Ormiston picked up the win for Corozal, going 7.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 2-8. Benedicto Meléndez earned the save for Corozal, his 10th of the year.
Valentyn Fiala had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Corozal center fielder hit a run-scoring single. That put the Maduritos in front, 1-0.
"I had a good game," said Fiala. "Winning makes it even better."
The setback makes Jayuya 31-32.
