Guardiamarinas Get Close Win Over Lirios, 2-1
|
Barceloneta took on Vega Alta in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Jesús Garcés, in particular, was fantastic. The Barceloneta right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-1. The Guardiamarinas now have a mark of 32-34.
Fausto Ramírez clinched the win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. In the game, the Barceloneta second baseman was 1-3 with a walk.
"What can you say about Jesús?" said Barceloneta manager Raúl Ortiz. "He was pretty incredible."
