The excitement level at Parquecito de Yabucoa reached a crescendo in the final at-bat.

Yabucoa registered a win at Parquecito de Yabucoa by beating the Villalba Banqueros, 4-3. Pitcher Richard Pearce was one reason why the Pastelillos triumphed. Yabucoa pitcher Ronald Brown earned the win, hiking his record to 8-1. Ladislao Cañaveral suffered the loss.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 19-year old first baseman Francisco López had a chance to be the hero. Villalba pitcher Ladislao Cañaveral wanted to foil that plan. But with one out, López hit a sacrifice fly. The Pastelillos had themselves a thrilling win.

Villalba manager Ronaldo González, after yet another defeat, remained upbeat. He said: "We're going to get out of this thing, we're going to come busting through."

The misery continues for the Banqueros, who have now dropped 17 in a row.
