A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Las Piedras Peritos and Yabucoa Pastelillos.
The Las Piedras Peritos beat the Yabucoa Pastelillos, 5-1, at Parquecito de Las Piedras. Luis Zumbado starred for Las Piedras. He was 2-2 with 2 doubles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. José Vázquez picked up the win, lifting his record to 2-6 on the season. He struck out 1 and walked 3 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 1 run.
Zumbado broke a deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Las Piedras up, 2-1.
Despite the victory, Zumbado was prickly with assembled media after the game. He said only that he was "happy with the win."
Las Piedras, with the win, is 23-44.
