Though he had a stellar game, Rafael Rivas could not prevent his team, the Lares Gritantes, from losing, 10-6, to the Aguadilla Alevines. Rivas went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Picking up the win was Leegan Hyland. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 6 runs on 13 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 3. Aguadilla is now 29-40, while Lares is 33-36.
Aguadilla designated hitter Michel Rose contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 54th hit of the season and put the Alevines ahead, 5-3.
In comments to the Aguadilla Today, Rose insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
