Aguada beat Mayaguez in a rain-soaked ballgame.

The Aguada Catecumenes locked up a win at Parquecito de Aguada, knocking off the Mayaguez Alfereces, 6-3. On the mound for Aguada was right-hander Loquillo Saenz. He played a major role in the triumph. Saenz, the winner, moves to 6-5. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 5 walks.

Early in the game, shortstop Carlos Rodríguez had a 3-run home run for Aguada. It was his 11th home run of the season and put the Catecumenes on top, 3-0.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Saenz.

The Catecumenes go to 46-26, putting them second in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
