Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Tritones beat the Gritantes.
The Lares Gritantes could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Adolfo Esquivel into a win. Instead, the Hatillo Tritones prevailed, 6-4. Esquivel threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Hatillo, at 45-29, sits in 4th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
Nollaig Dunne had a big grand slam home run for the Tritones in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Hatillo leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he sized up a slider from Dalton Guerrero, who is tied for 9th in the LMB in saves with 8, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Tritones on top, 6-1.
Said losing manager Rafael Torres: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."
