The Vega Alta Lirios withstood an impressive performance by Toa Alta first baseman Scott Mill to defeat the Sonetistas, 7-5, at Parquecito de Toa Alta. Mill went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winning pitcher was Dylan Black. His record now stands at 10-3. The left-hander went 8.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 8 hits for the Lirios. Picking up the save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Gabino Algarín.

Vega Alta took advantage of an error in the top of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 4-4, when Bonifacio Álvarez hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put the Lirios in front, 6-4.

"Whenever I help the team," said Álvarez, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."

The Lirios saw their win-loss record go to 48-27. At the same time, the Sonetistas fell to 44-31.
