A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Lares Gritantes and Isabela Jerezanos.
Pitcher Bruce Petley was rock solid in helping the Lares Gritantes beat the Isabela Jerezanos, 4-1. Ladislao Utset earned the save, his 2nd in 3 tries.
Curt Groulx, who is tied for 9th in the LMB in total bases with 112, had a direct impact on the outcome. Groulx contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Lares up, 2-0.
"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Petley.
The 5th-place Gritantes now have a win-loss record of 42-34.
