Aprendices Secure 4-3 Win
|
Guayama pitcher Nicolás Díaz had a large part in his team beating the Humacao Aguaceros, 4-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Díaz yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 12 hits, walked 4, and struck out 7. His record improves to 7-2. Nicolás Acosta picked up his 5th save of the season.
The Aprendices got a big hit from pinch hitter Isaiah Griffin. In the bottom of the sixth, Griffin smacked a 2-run double off Humacao pitcher Qasim Yaseen. It was his 5th double of the season. Suddenly, the Aprendices were ahead, 3-2.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Griffin.
With the win over Humacao, the Aprendices improved to 41-35.
