Barranquitas got a terrific performance from pitcher Cristóbal Bejarano, but it wasn't enough to beat the Aguas Buenas Testarudos. Aguas Buenas won the Parquecito de Barranquitas contest, 4-2. Bejarano threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. Aguas Buenas pitcher Baldovino Plancarte earned the win, hiking his record to 6-10. Máximo Guzmán suffered the loss. With the win, Aguas Buenas has a record of 40-38. Barranquitas falls to 35-43.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Colm Scroggie came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Barranquitas pitcher Máximo Guzmán, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Aguas Buenas on top, 3-2.
"I'm not out here to win a beauty contest," said Scroggie. "Obviously."
