Escaleras Walk It Off for 42nd Win of Season

Parquecito de Gurabo played host to some real drama.
In a low-scoring contest between the Gurabo Escaleras and the Rio Grande Zarzas, Pedro Plantillas, who is tied for 7th in the LJP in quality starts with 16, proved to be the difference. The Gurabo left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Escaleras win. Gurabo is now 42-36.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 2-2, 21-year old first baseman Florencio Serrano won it for Gurabo. With the bases loaded, Serrano hit a first pitch splitter from Víctor Hugo Morales for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 3-2 win.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Plantillas.
