Loiza picked up a win at Parquecito de Loíza, bumping off the Luquillo Comecocos, 5-4. Pitcher Víctor Morales was a major reason the Pleneros emerged victorious. Loiza is now 49-31, while Luquillo is 36-44.

Loiza went in front, 5-4, on Lenny Dack's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Dack hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Luquillo pitcher Arcadio Marroquín visibly perturbed.

"Víctor was throwing strikes, locating well," said Loiza manager Ramiro Santiago.
