Rio Grande turned a good effort from starter Geoffrey Boyer into a win over the Fajardo Camorristas at Parquecito de Río Grande. The final score was 4-2. The Zarzas improved to 35-45.

Jonathan Newcombe had a big 2-run home run for the Zarzas in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Rio Grande leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a curveball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Lewis Campbell and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Zarzas on top, 3-0.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Newcombe said.
