Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Aguadilla Alevines and Rincon Maquinistas.

The Rincon Maquinistas could not turn a fine performance from pitcher César Contreras into a win. Instead, the Aguadilla Alevines prevailed, 6-5. Contreras came in in relief and pitched to 16 batters. Picking up the win was Héctor Chávez. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The left--hander struck out 6 and walked 2.

Aguadilla used a clutch at-bat from Lyndon Smith to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Alevines ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"At the end of the day, wins and losses are really the only thing that matters," said Smith.

Aguadilla is now 35-46.
