Gritantes Helpless Against Bravo, Lose 3-0
The Lares Gritantes were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the Mayaguez Alfereces and hurler Ignacio Bravo. Bravo kept the Gritantes confused all game, spinning a 4-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Bravo," Lares manager Rafael Torres said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 22-year-old right-hander had 2 walks and 9 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Bravo said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

For the season, Bravo is 2-and-5 with no saves and a 4.67 ERA. He has given up 59 hits in 61.2 innings with 53 strikeouts.
