Down to Defeat Go Limbers, 7-1

The Salinas Olimpicos defeated the Aibonito Limbers, 7-1, at Parquecito de Salinas. Leading the charge for Salinas was right fielder Raúl Cano. He was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was Martín Goto. He's now 3-9. He went 8 innings, allowing 1 run on 7 hits for the Olimpicos. At 31-52, the Olimpicos claim 12th place in the Liga José Padilla División Carmen Bozello y Guzmán.
Bob Strauss had a big solo home run for the Olimpicos in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Salinas leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from 19-year old left-handed pitcher Propercio Rosell and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Olimpicos on top, 2-0.
"We did a lot of things right," said Strauss.
