The Jayuya Picachos overcame a good performance by Morovis shortstop Aidan Robinson to knock off Morovis, 6-5, at Parquecito de Morovis. Robinson went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Orren Watson picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-10 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 0 in 7.2 innings, while yielding 5 runs. Timoteo Poutini was credited with the save for Jayuya, his 3rd of the season.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Gabriel Enríquez? The 19-year old right fielder Enríquez stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Jayuya up, 6-2. For the game, he was 3 for 4, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Jayuya manager Harry Koons.
With the win, the Picachos have a record of 47-35.
