Guerreros Use Late Surge to Win
The Anasco Guerreros used the hitting of left fielder Menandro Herrera to subdue the Mayaguez Alfereces, 10-6, in 10 innings. For the game, Herrera went 5 for 5 with a double, 4 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. Anasco reliever Wilfredo Holguín picked up the win to move to 7-2. Dietmar Goetschl suffered the loss. The 10th-place Guerreros improved to 38-48.

The game was all tied up in the top of the tenth, until Herrera delivered big-time for Anasco, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off Dietmar Goetschl. The game-changing hit put the Guerreros on top, 7-6.

"We knocked the fire out of the ball," said Anasco manager Rafael Díaz. "The guys swung the bats pretty good, and that's fun to see."
