Jerezanos Lose 9-4 Decision to Mayaguez
The Mayaguez Alfereces picked up a win at Parquecito de Mayagüez, downing the Isabela Jerezanos, 9-4. On the mound for Mayaguez was right-hander Abenámar Costello, who played a pivotal role in the win. Costello got the win, improving to 7-6. He gave up 5 hits and walked 4 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. Mayaguez, now 30-60, holds down last place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.

Timoteo Valerio had a big 2-run double for the Alfereces in the bottom of the third inning. With Mayaguez leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Atilano García, who is tied for 4th in the LMB in quality starts with 18, and swatted a double to left. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Alfereces ahead, 3-0.

"No weaving and bobbing. Abenámar came right after them," said Mayaguez manager Camilo Ramírez.
