Sonetistas Earn Late 3-2 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Toa Alta-Vega Baja contest at Parquecito de Toa Alta.
Luis Martínez, who is tied for 5th in the LMB in complete games with 13, propelled his team to victory over the Vega Baja Dulzones. The final score was 3-2, Toa Alta. Carlos Rauda earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record is now 6-6.
Toa Alta took a 3-2 lead on Noé Vásquez's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Vásquez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Vega Baja pitcher Floyd Hillock shaking his head.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Martínez.
Today's win puts Toa Alta at 39-51, while Vega Baja falls to 40-50.
