Lope Zepeda pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Las Marias Agriados, despite Zepeda's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Quebradillas Escondidos at Parquecito de Las Marías. Agustín Solorio, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save. Quebradillas, at 36-57, occupies 12th place in the Liga Mariana Bracetti División Manuel Corchado y Juarbe.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Héctor Osorio was at the plate when Quebradillas scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Escondidos to go in front, 3-2.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Anaxímenes García.
