Canovanas 69-26 After Beating Malditos
|
The Canovanas Criptidos had to overcome a fine effort from Naguabo pitcher Rombek Malual to win, 7-5, at El Círculo Noveno. Malual went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs. Segundo Arana, who is tied for 9th in the LJP in wins with 16, was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 7 hits, with 8 walks and 9 strikeouts. Moisés Paz closed out the game, earning his 7th save.
Ranulfo Pelayo made an early impact for Canovanas when he stroked his 9th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came with one out in the top of the third, put the Criptidos on top, 7-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pelayo. "And not try to do too much."
After today's action, Canovanas sits at 69-26, while Naguabo falls to 69-26.
