The Maracay Jardineros picked up a win at Jardines de Maracay, dropping the Valencia Industriales, 4-3. Julio Berrones, who is tied for 5th in the LO in innings pitched with 80.2, was the difference-maker. Maracay, at 17-20, occupies 4th place in the Liga Oeste.
Adam Robb had a big 2-run triple for the Jardineros in the bottom of the third inning. With Maracay leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Ruy Máez, who is tied for 10th in the LO in innings pitched with 74.0, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 6th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Jardineros ahead, 3-0.
"Julio gets on the mound and he competes and that's what you want," said Maracay manager Alberto Méndez.
