Caracas Rallies for 3-1 Win
|
Estadio de Guatire was the site of a competitive game between the Guatire Heroes and Caracas Sultanes.
Bermudo Muñoz, who is tied for 9th in the LE in quality starts with 4, was locked in. The right-hander led the Caracas Sultanes to a 3-1 win against the Guatire Heroes at Estadio de Guatire. Muñoz yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 2, and struck out 2. His record improves to 3-4.
Caracas used the timely hitting of Rubén Sagastume to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Sultanes on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Every play was important. Every out was important," said Sultanes manager Rosario Reyes.
The win makes Caracas 17-18.
