Cumana pitcher Enrico Miegge had a large part in his team beating the Angostura Amargados, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Atunes improved their record to 19-20 with the win over Angostura.

Had Sisto Labraccio not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Labraccio hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Atunes.

Miegge told a Cumana Chronicle reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
