The Maracaibo Independientes took on the Barquisimeto Crepusculares at Barquisimeto Stadium.
Despite a great performance by Barquisimeto shortstop Ladislao Díaz, the Maracaibo Independientes defeated the Crepusculares by the score of 10-8 at Barquisimeto Stadium. Díaz went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times. Luis Almodóvar got the win, improving to 7-4. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 10 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Javier Vega closed it out for Maracaibo, earning his 3rd save.
Maracaibo relied on the hitting of Vicente Segovia to pick up the win. The left fielder ripped a run-scoring triple in the top of the fourth inning to put the Independientes on top, 3-0. For the game, Segovia had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Segovia told a Maracaibo Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
The 6th-place Crepusculares have lost 5 straight games.
