The Maracaibo Independientes beat the Merida Caballeros, 10-9, at Estadio de Maracaibo. The win was due in part to center fielder Vicente Segovia, who went 5-6 with a triple, a double, and 3 singles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Maracaibo leads the Liga Oeste by 2 games.

The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Maracaibo trailing 9-8, Segovia hit a fastball from Rodulfo Vega for a 2-run double. In the blink of an eye, the Independientes had a walk-off win.

"This game had a little bit of everything," said Segovia.
