The Merida Caballeros knocked off the Barinas Viajeros, 3-2, in Liga Oeste action at Campo de Barinas. Merida pitcher and Mexico City, Mexico, native Damián Canchola had an outstanding performance. Canchola, who led the LO in ERA with 2.28 last year, went the distance for Merida. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. Merida has run its win streak to 5 in a row.
