Not everyone stuck through the 70-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

The Maracaibo Independientes topped the Valencia Industriales, 6-4, with second baseman Félix Breceda playing a big role. Breceda went 1 for 1 with 3 walks, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Independientes in the win. Luis Almodóvar got the win, improving to 11-9. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 12 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Javier Vega closed the door for Maracaibo, picking up his 6th save of the year.

Ibarra, Ecuador native Félix Breceda had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the sixth for the Independientes. With Maracaibo trailing 4-3, he hit a 2-run single.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Breceda.

At 49-32, the Independientes are currently second in the Liga Oeste.
