The rain came, as predicted, but the Coro Bizantinos and Valencia Industriales were able to complete their ballgame.

Coro Bizantinos starter José Shaefer was in fine form. He led his team to victory over the Valencia Industriales, 11-1. Today's win puts Coro at 51-29, while Valencia falls to 28-53.

The Bizantinos got an important contribution from second baseman Hormisdas Arce, who in the top of the fourth knocked a 2-0 changeup to right for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 14th triple of the season and put the Bizantinos ahead, 6-0.

"This is a very good team," said Arce. "We have the chance to do something special."
