The Coro Bizantinos trumped the Merida Caballeros, 11-4, at Estadio de Coro. Coro left fielder Martín García was terrific. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The 4th-place Bizantinos now sit at 43-39.

Coro first baseman Tubrady Thompson contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 90th hit of the season and put the Bizantinos ahead, 6-1.

Coro manager Pablo Moreno commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
