The rain could not keep the home crowd from enjoying a good ballgame.

Starting pitcher Humberto Camarillo did his part in helping the Merida Caballeros thwart the Coro Bizantinos, 2-1. Quilvio González earned his 8th save in 11 chances.

Cupid Childs, who is a two-time All-Star, had a direct impact on the outcome. Childs contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put Merida up, 1-0.

"My job is to throw quality pitches, go as deep as I can, and give us an opportunity," said Camarillo.

The second-place Caballeros now have a win-loss record of 47-37.
