Viajeros Lose as Independientes Stage Late Rally
Maracaibo took on Barinas in front of a lively crowd.

The Maracaibo Independientes knocked off the Barinas Viajeros, 5-4, at Estadio de Maracaibo. Artemisio Reynoso was a big reason Maracaibo won. The center fielder was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2. Maracaibo pitcher Duarte Flores got the win. He's now 4-5. Federico Rodríguez was tagged with the loss.

José Romero was the walk-off hero for Maracaibo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Independientes pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Romero.

Maracaibo is now 53-33, while Barinas is 40-46.
