Behind a solid performance from catcher Vespasiano Mordasini, the Bolzano Dolomiti defeated the Leipzig Kaufmaenner, 12-7. Mordasini went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Dolomiti. The winning pitcher was Verdiano Loria. He tossed 114 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. Cesar Arfè closed the door for Bolzano, picking up his 4th save of the year.

With Bolzano leading 3-1 in the top of the third, Mordasini hit a fastball from James Alexander for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Dolomiti ahead, 5-1.

"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Mordasini. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."

The Dolomiti win now puts them at 31-19.
