Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Zmaji
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Ljubljana Zmaji take on the Rijeka Torpeda.
Ljubljana starter Pedro Cárdenas pitched well against the Rijeka Torpeda at Stadion Ljubljane. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-2. Ljubljana pitcher Boris Debeljak got the win, upping his record to 11-5. Dimitrije Ogrijenovic got the loss.
Ljubljana went in front, 4-2, on Stane Krušec's 18th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Krušec hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rijeka pitcher Dimitrije Ogrijenovic visibly perturbed.
Ljubljana manager Muño Pacheco commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
The Zmaji sit in 5th place in the Allgemeine Teilung with a record of 52-53.
